Tricep Extension

Tricep Extension
  • The tricep extension exercise featured here is the quintessential tricep exercise.

  • It can be performed quite easily by lying on your back on the glide board and by simply extending your arms to raise yourself up the rails.

Tricep Extension - Prone

Tricep Extension - Prone
  • The prone variation is another excellent way to strengthen your triceps using a total gym.

  • In this exercises you are to lie prone on the glide board with your head up and you move yourself up by extending your arms while making sure you upper arms aren't allowed to move (i.e. are held in position).

Tricep Extension - Kneeling

Tricep Extension - Kneeling
  • The kneeling tricep extension is performed by kneeling on the glide board and pulling the handles back by extending your arms.

  • Again, you'll want to make sure you are holding your upper arms in place in order to correctly isolate your tricep muscles.

Tricep Extension - Lateral Single-Arm

Tricep Extension - Lateral Single-Arm
  • Finally, the lateral single-arm variation featured here will demand a greater level of focus since you'll want to make sure you are assuming the correct position that will isolate your triceps.

  • You'll know you are doing the exercise correctly if you are able to keep your upper arm parallel to the glide board throughout the exercises, which you'll find is easier said than done.
